Oh the Front Seat

Oh the front seat, oh the front seat
How I long to sit on your lap
As the bus is in the halt
How I waited for the day, work to end
To slide my back on your backrest
How I hurry and haste
To get on the bus rushing for your comfort
How I felt contented
Sitting just behind the driver
Assuring I can safely sit back and relax
How I compete with other passenger
To be seated on my throne of peacefulness
How contended I became
When I finally rest myself on your fullness
how I see the beauty around me
The greenfields, the mountain and the sky
How I find satisfaction
Just leaning on the window
Breathing deeply breathing the afternoon delight
Closing my eyes gently
Wandering in a place, I can never be
If I am not seated in my favorite place on earth
Oh the front seat, oh the front seat.

My poem when I was riding shuttle bus in IRRI in Los BaƱos to catch a glimpse of Mt. Maria Makiling
